Foster Environmental Limited is the interim body (January to March 2025) to allow fishing gear producers to comply with SI No. 612 of 2022.

During this period, it is funded by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.

Foster Environmental Limited will under the Reel It Back initiative:

• Provide a service for the registration of producers
• Collect data of fishing gear placed on the market in Ireland
• Advise and assist producers in the establishment of a Producer Responsibility Organisation

If you import/manufacture fishing gear containing plastic, you have a legal obligation to register.
